BALANCE AND FLEXIBILITY AS WE AGE
Instructor: Pauline Reid
Learn simple Qigong (Chi Kung) and Tai Chi movements to help maintain flexibility and balance as you age.
Studies have shown that Tai Chi (a form of Qigong) practice improves balance. Tai Chi uses all the components needed to stay upright—leg strength, flexibility, range of motion, and reflexes—all of which tend to decline with age.
The gentle, flowing movements are low impact, putting minimal stress on joints and muscles. The practice is slow and deliberate and can be modified to suit individual needs.
We will be using specific movements taken from Qigong and Tai Chi forms, creating a practice that works for you. No special equipment is needed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and soft soled shoes.
